Lunchtime Snacks at Bath
I work in Bath and it really is a great city. It can get really busy and times, especially during the summer and at Christmas time, when the German-style market takes place, next to the Abbey. Bath is full of sandwich shops, fast-food takeaways and cafes, but many of the locals here head for the pasty shops at lunchtimes. There are two really good ones, both run by the same company. One is behind Next and Dixons, tucked away down a narrow backstreet, and the other one is at the opposite end of the city centre, close to M&S.

Bath Restaurants
There are loads of really good restaurants around the centre of Bath, although many of the best deals are available during lunchtimes only. At the top of Bath's Podium Shopping Centre, a superb Chinese restaurant offers a really cheap buffet lunch, with an enormous selection on offer. This is also available in the evening, although the price increases.

Also popular at lunchtimes in Bath are a number of top Cornish pasty shops, sandwich shops, Thai restaurants and all of the usual fast-food favourites, including MacDonalds, Burger King, KFC and Pizza Hut. If you were only in Bath for a day, make sure you try the fish and chips at Kingsmead Square, and try eating them on one of the nearby benches underneath the giant plane tree, although watch out for pigeons!
